We're not just rebuilding lives; we're reshaping the future of disaster recovery. Through people-centered, evidence-based advocacy, we're driving policy change, strengthening systems, and setting benchmarks to ensure that the US disaster recovery system effectively, fairly, and efficiently meets the needs of all survivors, everywhere.
SBP’s mission is to shrink the time between disaster and recovery. More than 18 years of recovery experience in communities across the country has shown us that disaster survivors have a breaking point. When recovery assistance is delayed and unpredictable, survivors suffer unnecessarily. SBP advocates for innovation and policy reform at the local, state, and federal levels to streamline the recovery process and ensure that it efficiently, predictably, and effectively meets the needs of all survivors, everywhere.
