Advisory Services 1

Advisory Services

We know  that all disasters begin and end locally.

While many communities understand their risks, too often they lack the capacity, information, or resources needed to turn plans into action. SBP partners directly with government agencies, community leaders, and local businesses to close those gaps. We help communities reduce disaster risk, accelerate recovery, and build long-term resilience.

Small- and medium-sized communities face unique challenges, from limited funding and staffing constraints to complex federal requirements. Backed by more than 50 years of combined public service experience before, during, and after disasters, SBP’s expert practitioners deliver high-impact, cost-effective advising services that strengthen local capacity. Through targeted training, hands-on implementation support, and guidance to access critical funding and risk information, SBP helps communities move from awareness to action—so they’re ready to respond when disaster strikes.

Testimonios

Disaster Case Management Course

"Me alegró asistir al Curso para Profesionales del Liderazgo (LPC) como representante de la Oficina de Recuperación y Resiliencia de Carolina del Norte (NCORR). Mi asistencia al LPC llegó en un momento crítico para la NCORR... Antes de asistir al LPC, NCORR no sabía si SBP sería capaz de ayudar... Poco después de asistir al LPC, NCORR firmó un acuerdo con SBP y desde entonces NCORR ha hecho enormes avances en la dirección correcta..."

Matthew Arlyn,

NCORR, Chief Recovery Officer | CDBG-DR Leader Practitioner Course

"Contractors should all be attending this training with their contract owners. Whether it is a state office, county, municipality, or private owner, it does not matter; launching a new program using the same vocabulary, plan, and outcome vision is the best investment of time and resources that can be spent."

Mr. Jr Sanderson and his team of instructors were experts in the field, sharing real-world examples and best practices that made the course material relatable and extremely applicable.
