Florida

SBP began operations in Florida in 2018, opening an office in Panama City to assist communities rebuilding after Hurricanes Michael, Ian, Idalia, and Debby. Since then, SBP has built homes, helped homeowners secure significant disaster assistance through FEMA appeals, and launched the Recovery Acceleration Fund for survivors. With a new program and regional office in Tampa, SBP will continue to strengthen its disaster recovery efforts across the state.

Florida Recovery Operations

SBP has provided recovery resources and support for communities devastated by Hurricanes Michael, Ian, and Idalia across the Florida Panhandle, the Big Bend area, and the Gulf Coast. SBP rebuilds homes for disaster survivors in Florida with IBHS FORTIFIED roofs and other features designed to prevent future storm damage. In addition to the Build program,

SBP’s response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida has included muck-and-gut operations in the greater Tampa area and free disaster assistance services to help homeowners file FEMA appeals.
