SBP has been working in Puerto Rico since we responded to Hurricane Maria in 2018. Our local team has helped communities recover from three major hurricanes and to date, SBP has rebuilt more homes in Puerto Rico than any other organization.
Puerto Rico Recovery Operations
Leveraging the Toyota Production System, SBP’s Puerto Rico-based team, along with our AmeriCorps members and dedicated service volunteers, has efficiently rebuilt homes for disaster-impacted families at a fraction of the cost of regular private contractors.
We prioritize constructing homes with hurricane-resistant features and roofs built to FORTIFIED standards to safeguard against the impact of future disasters.
