Empowering Local Partners for Sustainable Impact

We're on a mission to scale our impact by sharing our deep knowledge and operational expertise with local nonprofit partners. By increasing the effectiveness of local nonprofit organizations with deep roots in at-risk communities, we’re building on what’s already working and delivering effective solutions at a greater scale to help more families return home.

Are you a local nonprofit looking for help?

How Our Share Program Works

In the wake of disasters, SBP’s SHARE Program fills critical capacity gaps in communities by providing local nonprofits with tailored funding, training, and capacity-strengthening initiatives to meet recovery needs. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders, we empower local and national nonprofit partners to lead local recovery efforts with the specific tools, resources, and knowledge they need most. Through technical assistance, funding, specialized support for flood recovery, and training, our SHARE program equips partners to navigate challenges and support their communities to rebuild and recover.

Leveraging the Power of AmeriCorps

For more details on our Share program, download our Fact Sheet.

By enabling nonprofit partners to host AmeriCorps members, our SHARE program significantly boosts the capacity of locally-led disaster response and recovery efforts — at a low cost. Through SBP’s AmeriCorps Placement Site Program, nonprofit partners can host full-time AmeriCorps members for ten-month service terms to increase their capacity in disaster case management, rebuilding efforts, and construction and volunteer coordination. In addition to providing capacity, SBP also offers partners guidance from SBP’s subject matter experts and ongoing support from SBP’s HR & AmeriCorps Program Manager and our National AmeriCorps Recruitment Team. Testimonials

"SBP provides comfort. For a non-profit like HDA that is rooted in our community but is not knowledgeable about disaster recovery to have an organization that we can trust – just makes things better. We can relax a little, not stress out so much, and take deep breaths knowing that we have the sort of relationship that we have with SBP."

Chris Doll,

Assistant Director of Housing Development Alliance

"With the help of SBP we have been able to complete six repairs in DeSoto County in the last six months. Without their assistance these families would still be waiting for safe and secure housing. We are forever grateful to SBP for their generosity and guidance."

Jennifer Bowser,

Executive Director Arcadia-DeSoto County Habitat for Humanity

"The partnership with SBP has been a true blessing to LASER. This grant has allowed us to begin the recovery process from the destruction of Hurricane Ian. Without this grant LASER would not have been able to begin the recovery of Hurricane Ian and assist homeowners with mold remediation and tree removal."

Brandi Martin,

LASER

"As most people either did not have insurance at all, or insurance that would cover mold remediation, this grant allowed us to pay for 10 households to have this very valuable service. And it opened our eyes to the need for professional remediation."

Mary Ryan,

Beacon of Hope

"With the help of SBP, Collier Disaster Alliance successfully installed impact-resistant doors and windows, along with rot-proof siding, molding, and jams. The recent implementations have significantly bolstered the resilience of the survivor's home, rendering it better equipped to endure and rebound from any potential disasters in the future."

Lori Merenda

Collier Disaster Alliance

"The collaboration between The Silver Sage and SBP Foundation proved to be an invaluable partnership. Following the aftermath of Winter Storm Uri, 171 elderly homeowners were left with frozen and broken pipes in the Texas Hill Country. Our joint efforts were empowered by SBP's training and financial support. Their unwavering assistance was pivotal in restoring essential services and bringing relief to those in need…"

Art Crawford,

CEO of Silver Sage

"SBP has been an amazing partner to Attack Poverty’s disaster recovery efforts in the Houston area. SBP not only supported us in the repair of 38 homes impacted by disasters like Hurricane Harvey and Winter Storm Uri, but they also provided training to our staff and contractors to install Fortified Roofs that make homes more resilient to future disasters. They also allow us and other disaster recovery organizations to utilize their experience by way of their vast online process and training documentation…"
