SBP’s Resilience and Recovery Fellows Program is designed to meet the funding needs of small- to medium-sized communities. Our program offers capacity to community leaders and networks not only to secure the recovery assistance they need when disasters strike, but also to anticipate and withstand future extreme weather threats.

SBP uses philanthropic investment to hire, train, and support locally-based disaster resilience and recovery professionals in smaller, at-risk communities. These Fellows add capacity to local government agencies, fostering engagement with a broad range of stakeholders to spearhead initiatives aimed at securing federal and philanthropic support for mitigation and resilience projects.

"Will and I discussed the Rollover Pass water line as a mitigation project. He helped develop the narrative and guided us through updating a basic scope of work to ensure we meet requirements for funding applications. Thanks to Will's guidance, we were able to identify Rollover Pass and two other projects as eligible in the current Galveston County Hazard Mitigation Plan. When Galveston County called to discuss CDBG-MIT opportunities, we were prepared and were able to submit for the Rollover Pass project.
