By enabling nonprofit partners to host AmeriCorps members, our SHARE program significantly boosts the capacity of locally-led disaster response and recovery efforts — at a low cost. Through SBP’s AmeriCorps Placement Site Program, nonprofit partners can host full-time AmeriCorps members for ten-month service terms to increase their capacity in disaster case management, rebuilding efforts, and construction and volunteer coordination. In addition to providing capacity, SBP also offers partners guidance from SBP’s subject matter experts and ongoing support from SBP’s HR & AmeriCorps Program Manager and our National AmeriCorps Recruitment Team. For eligible local 501(c)(3) nonprofits and community organizations providing repairs from Presidentially declared disasters in the last four years. Organizations affiliated with or a local chapter of a national nonprofit are welcome to apply. Funding is limited to four roofs per organization.
